Rebecca and I spent several nights in this downtown high-rise condo. Having never been to Vancouver, we couldn’t have picked a better spot to catch a glimpse of the city. Kirk and Robert’s listing resides on the 24th floor and boasts 3 balconies that overlook the vibrant city of Vancouver. The view alone was worth the stay.
The listing is in the middle of downtown, about 15 minutes walking-distance from the bay. From the apartment’s windows you can clearly see North Vancouver and West Vancouver. The apartment building is surrounded by restaurants, local bars, shopping, and more. We walked everywhere–except for when we rented bicycles and rode to the Lions Gate Bridge.
Kirk and Robert’s apartment requires an electronic door-key to enter the building. It is a private residence and feels very secure. Once inside, you must take the elevator to the top of the building where their sub-penthouse resides.
The inside of the home is modern, spacious, clean, and minimally decorated. The floors are a light colored wood and the accents are all white or cream. There are large windows spanning the entire length of the apartment that allow natural light to shine through. It is a beautiful space.
As mentioned above, the listing features 3 separate balconies that provide the guest a breathtaking view of the city. There is outdoor furniture on each balcony and space heaters to warm the area. The guest room has its own private balcony.
Kirk and Robert appear to be in their early 40s. Both are affluent businessmen–obviously used to the fast-paced environment of downtown Vancouver. They come and go, occupied by work, friends, and other outings. They are very much active and enjoy their lifestyle. While they are very accommodating, they do respect the privacy of their guests. I honestly having nothing but positive things to say about the hosts.
I will mention Ripley, the guardian of the house. Ripley is a middle-aged Labradoodle that couldn’t care less about your existence. As a huge dog lover, I found Ripley’s personality to be very comical. She doesn’t greet you when you enter the home. She doesn’t tell you good-bye. She just wants to lay out on the patio (and occasionally try to trick you into giving her a treat). Don’t let her fool you… She doesn’t actually need to go outside.
The apartment features full hotel-style amenities including travel-size shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion. They provide guests with plenty of towels, comfortable bath robes, and other bathroom necessities. They also offered us basic snacks, drinks, and homemade cappuccino to enjoy on the balcony.
Kirk and Robert also created a very encompassing welcome packet for their guests that offers personal reviews of restaurants, bars, and other local destinations.
None. Every aspect of our stay was excellent. The building was easy to find. There was private parking. It is located in a safe area. The apartment itself was amazing and the hosts are extremely welcoming.
Our Airbnb experience at Kirk and Rob’s apartment was more than satisfying. We highly recommend their place and will book their rental anytime we are going to be staying in downtown Vancouver. In our opinion this is the perfect example of a 5-star Airbnb rental.
